Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce has a new chief

SINGAPORE: The Singapore Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) has a new chief executive officer. He is 46—year—old Hernaikh Singh who is currently the associate director of the Institute of South Asian Studies.
A statement from SICCI said on Tuesday that Mr Hernaikh will join the organisation on 1 January 2010, bringing with him more than 20 years of experience in the Singapore government and non—government sectors and the research fraternity.
Vijay Iyengar, SICCI’s chairman, said: "Hernaikh comes with strong and extremely relevant credentials to push several important initiatives at SICCI, including the active promotion of entrepreneurship among the youth, developing relevant business—related publications, and identifying and exploring business potentials in new markets."Hernaikh has the capability and capacity to take charge of and lead these plans, as well as continue with important recent initiatives such as the Youth Committee, the professionals’ wing to be launched in 2010, the India internship programme and the Champions of Industry Dialogue Session."
